I am fifteen and I don't want to die

229759 I was 15 when I got this book...so of course I got it because I wanted to know why a 15 year old was going to die...When I was 15 I had only really learned about WWII when I was in the 6th grade under my Advanced Reading class ever since then I didn't know much about it...just the facts we all know about...you know Hitler...the 250 or so million Jews he killed, Pearl Harbor...and Anne Frank (funny though we only watched a movie about her but didn't read her diary). So when I read this book. I didn't know that Hitler had actually taken over countries...forgive me for being naïve. I was under the impression he just gathered all the Jews to Germany and killed them there...not that he overtook countries. So I was shocked when I read this book...and learned the reason why she thought she was going to die...I don't remember much about this book anymore I only ever this book about 3 times. So I don't remember if she lived or not...forgive me those of you who have read this book. Does anyone know if she's even still alive? This is a relatively sad book...one of many I'll read down the road...and not the only book (counting the other book Summer with My German Solider) about WWII that I'll eventually read.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

15881 I got this book when I was 13 so approximately a year after the movie came out. I didn't see the movie...nor had I read the first book either. I didn't read this series in order I didn't even know this was a series...I didn't know about the movie...I honestly didn't know anything about J.K. Rowling. Nor did I know about Harry Potter. I just liked the title of the book. Chamber of Secrets sounded mysterious to me so I got it (no I'm not a person who judges a book by it's cover but I am a person who judges the book by it's title, forgive me if I said this already). Little did I know this would be the book I would read more above all the books I had and eventually read so much that I cracked the paperback spine in the middle making the page of the of the chapter The Writing on the Wall always fall out...and for a while I lost because I read the book so much everywhere I went. My mother found the page in between the seats of the couch about a week after I lost it lol. Ever since then I always tried to keep the book from opening that far to make the page fall out and lose it all over again. I read Harry Potter when I can't think of anything else to read...having now the complete set of books lol. Obviously I'm not the only one who became hooked on Harry making me learn to love to read books...back then I only read books...because they were mandatory or I got them for free...but this is the start of me actually liking to read...and eventually become an addicted reader.

American Diaries: Rosa Moreno Hollywood California 1928

2835795So this is a simple book. I got this book along with the one I wrote about before. Now I was under the impression this was one of those American Girl books...that come with a doll that looks like the one on the book. Wondering...later on of course when I would get the doll that comes with it. But then I realized this is not one of those books. The first time I read this book I was under the impression she would eventually become a star and how her life would change and this being one of those books about old Hollywood child stars how they were and how their life went sort of thing. I was under the impression that this was actually a real book (you know non-fiction), it wasn't until the end of the book I realized that it wasn't a non-fiction book after all. I was disappointed with the ending of this book. I didn't read this book as much as the other ones because of that. I'd only read it if I were done with the other books I had...which of course were only 3 lol.

In my father's house

129270    My 3rd book is called In My Father's House By Ann Rinaldi. Now again I got this book when I was about 12-13 years old from that free book program I told you all about. This for me back then was a pretty thick book...obviously now that I'm older I can't believe I thought it was thick let alone long lol. If I were to read this book again I think if I wasn't interrupted like I always am I would finish this book in a day. I wonder though if they really talked the way it does in the book? I pretty much liked this book and again would read it all the time. I haven't read it in a long time...and am sad to say I don't know where it is. Though I know I didn't read it enough to make it fall apart like the other two lol. I haven't seen or heard other books by this author though, and I'm wondering if this is her only book...or I'm just not paying attention to her. If anyone knows any other books by her someone leave me a comment I like the way she writes and would gladly read another of her books.

Summer of My German Soldier

597953
Next Book up is Summer of My German Solider, (always say shoulder for soldier and vice versa lol).

This again I read when I was 12, from that free books program at school that I mentioned in my last post. Again I read this book as much as I did the last one (I only had those two books at the time). I have to say though I honestly thought Patty (the main character), was rather stupid in hiding Anton, (the guy), I mean come on your Jewish, and you just think you can hide a Nazi German solider in your garage apartment without anyone ever noticing?! She didn't think things through enough until it was too late. No offense to anyone who's fall in "love" at the age of 12 but seriously I don't remember if they mention his age in the book, but if he's in the army that means he's at least 6 years older than you, that is if he's 18 he could be older though, and it's kind of disturbing.Other than that I like the book rather sad though, the way her life is I'd get why she wanted to run away. This is what I thought years later, at the time when I was 12 (coincidence of being the same age as the girl in the book), I thought she could get away with it, parents ignore her unless the dad wanted to beat her, and the housekeeper was her friend, easy peasy right? Then again, if you do get away with it, where the heck would you go? I mean if you run away with him you can't exactly go to Germany with him you're Jewish that's like signing your death warrant right there. Where else can you go? You're 12 with a POW there's not many places you can go.

Funny though when you're a kid you want to run away all the time. I was one of them always saying I would run away. I'd grab my box of girl legos (the ones that are pink, green and white), two pennies and walk out the door, only to make it to the mailbox turn back around and go back in the house either super mad or crying. Nowadays though being a grown up I want to run away even more I mean what grown up likes to pay bills, worry about your job, and pay taxes? If you're reading this and you're one of those grown ups that likes all that stuff, comment and tell me about it I might change my mind lol. Out of these 2 books, I like this one better than the last one.

Absolutely Normal Chaos

19417

Anybody else read this book? I consider this as my first book read out of the 999 I have left. Now I got this book back when I was 12. I don't know if in any other school, or whether they even still do this back in my school...but I got this book in my school from a free book program. Where every year, (and I think that was the first year they started doing this), they take every English or Reading class from every grade to the library, (twice a year once in the fall and again in the spring), and some important people from this program start talking about how important it is for kids to read...and so on and so forth. Eventually they'd get to the part of showing all these different books on the tables and telling us we could pick one and when we did, they'd put a sticker on the inside cover with our names on it. I don't really remember any of the other books that were there at the time, I just remember this book. Now being 12 years old I thought this book was huge...I could never finish reading it...and back then it took me all summer to actually read this. I didn't really like all the love and mushy stuff out of this book...(and to be honest I still haven't found or have ever been in love yet). But other than that I actually like this book. I've read this book every summer since then back in my childhood...I've read it so much that the book is quite literally falling apart I've got pages completely out of it that I constantly have to put back in it if I open it lol. Now though I realize this is actually a short and little book lol.

Reason for blog READ THIS FIRST!!

This is the first post of my blog...if you are reading this please forgive me for the mistakes I make on here as this is the first time I have ever attempted to make a blog and am just learning how to do this as I go along.

If you are reading this than I am very flattered that you've taken the time too, and a little shocked that you find me interesting enough to actually read (for I don't think I'm that interesting in the first place) lol.

Now the purpose of my blog is to accomplish my goal...I've never actually accomplished a goal before, (or at least one that I wanted to accomplish), of reading a 1000 books before I die. Now you're probably thinking...that's easy you just count all the books you've read as a child and all the books you were made to read during school and you're pretty close right? Well that's not the way I'm counting it. I'm counting the books I've actually wanted to read, not the ones I vaguely remember reading as a child while trying to learn to read, the ones my mother read me when I didn't know how to read, or the ones that I was made to read while in middle and high school or in college. I'm counting the ones I've actually wanted to read because I found the cover (yes I know the sane "Don't judge a book by it's cover" but yes I do that lol), or title of a book interesting, and I've taken the time, (which to be honest I have a lot of free time to kill) to read it.

So if you're interested in going along with me on this goal of mine which I hope to achieve in a year or 2 (I'm not exactly a fast reader lol), post a comment, give me suggestions on books I should read, or just feel free to read this blog, I'd greatly appreciate it.
